I discovered Christie’s work by complete accident when it was shared on a blogging site I used to frequent, and I had only popped on to experience a sense of nostalgia.

There’s only one word for his work; Breathtaking. Utilising Encaustic painting techniques, the artist creates pieces that seem to ‘radiate’ light from within them, crafting a sort of ‘expressive x-ray’. The way that there is emphasis on the blood flowing through the forms references veins and the heart, which is the ‘lightest’ area, is something that I really like, and have been trying to capture in my own work. I will have to take inspiration from this when trying to create a similar effect.

They’re just astoundingly beautiful pieces, plain and simple.
